First Aid at Work Training
Course Summary
One of your core emergency preparation activities involves making provision for first aid. It is essential to be able to offer a basic level of first aid for both your colleagues and customers. This 4 day initial course is certified, approved and recognised by the HSE.
Who should attend: Those who are designated First Aiders for their companies. A 2-day refresher course is also available for those seeking to renew existing certification
Course Objectives
- For course members to act safely, promptly and effectively with emergencies at work;
- For course members to be familiar with the types and uses of first aid equipment
- For course members to gain an appreciation the duties of employers and the legal framework
- For course members to be familiar with records keeping and management issues in connection with an emergency
- For course members to recognise the importance of personal hygiene in first aid procedures.

- CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation)

- The wounded or bleeding casualty
- Treatment of burns & scalds
- Treatment of injury to bones & joints
- Treatment of shock
- Treatment of eye injuries

- Treatment of those overcome by gas or fumes
