Course Summary

On completion of the course you will understand the principles of forklift truck operation, safety and training. Extensive coverage includes roles of the instructor, learning methods, principles of instruction, lesson types and plans, classroom and training aids, along with assessments and reporting, skills testing and ongoing assessment.
Successful delegates are registered and certificated on the ITSSAR National Register of Accredited Instructors.

Delegates are continuously assessed during their training and each course is externally monitored at random by a qualified Training Advisor from ITSSAR.
Each delegate is provided with a range of operational and instructional manuals.
All QTC Ltd Tutors are accredited by ITSSAR and are also fully experienced, trained, tested and certificated on the relevant machines



Course Objectives

  • To train delegates with proven operating ability on specific types of machine in the methods and techniques required for the qualified instruction, training, assessment and certification of lift truck operators, in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of the Health & Safety Commission (HSC) Approved Code of Practice and Supplementary Guidance "Rider Operated Lift Trucks – Operator Training" (COP26).

Course Requirements:

  • Delegates attending this course must be experienced and qualified operators of the types of machines on which they will be required to give instruction. They should also meet the relevant recommended medical requirements and have proven themselves to be mature and reliable, with the desire to teach others.
