Forklift Basic Training

Course Summary

Basic Training covers fully the skills and the knowledge that is required for the safe operation of the type of truck and attachments if used which the trainee will be required to operate in the workplace.
Both Practical and Theoretical have to be passed to the required standard.
Whatever the objectives of the course are, sufficient time is devoted to the training needs of the operator in order to achieve the required standard.
Quality Training Consultants are able to offer the following Basic Training courses:

1 Day Experienced Operator

This course is designed to give the trained and Certificated Forktruck Operator whose licence is due for renewal a one day refresher course and test to renew his/her licence.
Maximum number of trainees per course - 3 -

Two Day Experienced Operator

This course is designed for the Forktruck Operator who has had extensive practical experience, (longer than 12 months), but has had no formal training and does not hold a licence.
Maximum number of trainees per course - 3 -

Three-Five Days Novice Operators

This course is ideal for operstors with no previous experience on Materials Handling Equipment. This course follows the guidelines within the ACOP published by the HSE and the accredditting bodies. The course can also be adapted to suit your operational requirements.

Course Objectives

• Name all the main components of the forklift truck
• Carry out a Pre-shift inspection check and understand the importance of such checks.
• Operate the forklift truck within the safety limits defined by the manufacturer.
• Stack and de-stack from various heights with various loads safely
• Manoeuvre a laden forklift truck in a narrow confined area.
• Cmplete theoretial test and a practical test as required by he accreditting bodies.
• All course notes, Certification and licences are included in quoted prices.
